MCCSA Staff wins Governor Multicultural Award

The Management Committee of MCCSA congratulates all the winners of the Governor’s Multicultural Awards 2016, hosted by His Excellency, the Honourable Hieu Van Le AO, Governor of South Australia, in the grounds of Government House, 22nd of March 2016.

We would like to mention how very proud we are of one of our staff members, Megs Lamb a proud recipient of the Community Sector individual Award (Joint Winner).

Megan’s tireless efforts to provide practical and emotional support to asylum seekers extends beyond the role she shares with her husband, Ali Jafari, as Directors of the much respected support organisation, Welcome to Australia. Together they also provide foster and respite care for children from other cultures. The judging panel was touched by her selfless devotion to people in crisis and her efforts to cultivate love, harmony and respect.

Of the 28 finalists recognized, 14 winners were awarded for the following award categories:
Arts and Culture (individual and organisation)
Community Sector (individual and organisation)
Public Sector

All nominees and their nominators were acknowledged and congratulated for their work in promoting the benefits of cultural diversity, social harmony and inclusiveness in our South Australian community.
