The Multicultural Communities Council of SA is hosting our first Harmony Picnic, Sunday 10th April between 12-3pm at Whitmore Square as part of the National Harmony events which take place around Australian and the world.
The message of Harmony Day is everyone belongs and it is a day to celebrate Australia’s diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home.
The MCCSA Harmony Picnic Day will highlight some of the smaller ethnic communities, showcasing their cultural expertise in the areas of dance and music, activities will also be provided for children. There will be a free BBQ provided by Adelaide Rotary and activities to try for all such as One Netball, SANFL and a jumping castle and face painting for children or even adults to try!
The Picnic is collaboration with our ethnic communities and some of the local Gilbert Street businesses and SA Water. The aim of the picnic is to encourage all communities to engage with one another and to foster a strong community life by celebrating diversity and acknowledging the contributions that migrants bring with them to South Australia.
